birthday wishes

Today is Mom's birthday! And the 28th of this month will be Dad's birthday. It's a decadal birthday this year for them...yes, they're both turning 30! Again. ;)

We were thinking that if Dad woke up today, that would be an awesome birthday present for Mom! But, I guess it'll have to be a belated present. One or two days late wouldn't be so bad... ;) Come on Dad, you can do it!!! WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!

I'm following your blog daily in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I had to come out to help my son and his 5 year old boy. Keith is a single dad and it's a lot to deal with. We're from Columbine United Church, and my husband Rich Schreiber, used to work with Marian. Happy Birthday to you, Marian. Seems like this is a day to go to the Lord in prayer, thanking him for the many years together, and remembering some fun times. You are in our prayers ... deep prayers. This has to be the most difficult time in your life. We love you. For comfort, when we pray we place you right next to Jesus as he prayed in the Garden with tough times ahead for Him, too.
Blessings, Rich and Marie Schreiber

Stopped by today to see Ed and play some music (bagpipes). One of the nurses (?they all look the same?) stopped in, and asked if I was Ed's brother - that we looked alike. I don't understand how a health care professional could say such a cruel thing about a sick man, but - other than that - I'm impressed by the care they all show for Ed. So it's not just when "we" are there.
The notebook was a good idea - Ed will enjoy reading it when he's up. I didn't write the things I actually say to him, since there are women and children reading it, but perhaps he will remember. I hope not, but I can deal with it.
